The Philly Swing Classic 2024, held September 13-15 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Wilmington, Delaware, brought together West Coast Swing enthusiasts for a weekend of fierce competition, workshops, and nonstop social dancing.
Dancers of all levels competed in various divisions, including Jack & Jill, Strictly Swing, and Routine, with standout performances from Steve Wilder, Margie Tuttle, and many others. In addition to the competitions, participants enjoyed workshops with top dance professionals and social events, like the popular Late Night Blues Room featuring DJ John Festa.
The event, a World Swing Dance Council Registry event, celebrated the spirit of the dance community with great music, food, and camaraderie, leaving everyone already looking forward to next year’s festivities
Jack & Jill Division Winners:
- Advanced Finals: Randell Livelo and Ariana Virgillio took first place.
- All-Star Finals: Steve Wilder and Margie Tuttle secured the top spot.
- Intermediate Finals: Ben Dichter and Elizabeth Wooton won first place.
- Masters Finals: Rye Crowen and Albana Haxhia were crowned champions.
- Newcomer Finals: Eve Squires and Ava Oaxaca took first place.
- Novice Finals: Tremor Cale and Andrei Bires won the division.
- Sophisticated Finals: Keith Stremmel and Erica Smith claimed the top position.
